Safaricom has launched a new tariff plan which targets high value customers such as professionals and the deep-pocketed ones. The plan has been dubbed Safaricom Platinum and features the following monthly tariffs – Platinum 1K, 2K, 3K, 5K and 5K and also Plus packages. The tariffs offer data, voice minutes (local and inter), SMS, discounts at EatOut, Shell and Ticketsasa (travel and events) and also access to business class airport lounges.
Safaricom Platinum Available on MySafaricom App
As it stands, the new packages are available only on MySafaricom App. To use them, you need to update the app and then subscribe to your desired tariff. If you are an iOS user, you will have to wait for a week to access the plan. But if you are an Android user, you are good to go!
Platinum 1K (Basic and Plus)
This package comes with 2GB data, 100 minutes (voice) and also 100 SMS. The offered items are the same for both Basic and Plus.
Platinum 2K (Basic and Plus)
This tariff features 5GB (6GB for Plus), 200 minutes (300 min for Plus), unlimited SMS and also discounts at EatOut, Shell and Ticketsasa.
Platinum 3K (Basic and Plus)
Here, you can enjoy 8GB (12GB for Plus), 400 minutes (500 min for Plus), unlimited SMS and also discounts at EatOut, Shell and Ticketsasa.
Platinum 5K (Basic and Plus)
Under this package, Safaricom offers the following items: 15GB (25GB for Plus), 1000 minutes (1500 min for Plus), unlimited SMS, 40 international minutes and also discounts at EatOut, Shell and Ticketsasa.
Platinum 10K (Basic and Plus)
This packages comes with many and big offerings. The items include 30GB (40GB for Plus), 3000 minutes (4000 min for Plus), unlimited SMS and also 100 international minutes. Other items include discounts at EatOut, Shell and Ticketsasa and also access to business class lounges at major airports worldwide.
In conclusion, the new Safaricom plan is for the people above 26 years. In addition, the customers can use M-Pesa funds or airtime to buy the post-pay packages. According to Safaricom, the Platinum Plus is renewed at the start of every month and its bills are sent via email or SMS.
